Welcome to our news letter 2022. This news letter
will include information about KU, It’s program,
mission vision and goals, it’s achievement this
years, all the challenges and what we wish to
achive in the coming years.

WHO WE ARE

Kuzamura Ubuzima (Growing Health) is a nonprofit organization based in Rwanda with the aim
of fighting malnutrition and eliminate poverty
among Rwandands especially these who are
hospitalized, and their families through providing
nutritious organic meals in two hospitals ( CHUB
and Kabutare District Hospital) as most Rwandan
hospitals don’t provide food for their patients.
We also provide sessions to promote knowledge on
nutrition and family planning, sustainable
agriculture and wellness to their caregivers while
they are at the hospitals, and we provide the same
sessions in communities to break the cycle of
malnutrition and diseases related to it

WHAT IMPACT WE MADE IN 2022

This year has been one of the tough one we had.
Not only the implementation but also the
financiation of our projects has been
complicated but together we made it through
the year all thanks to your generous help we
still could find a way to create a huge impact
on the people who need help the most.
Patient Feeding Program
Within the patient feeding program at CHUB
Teaching hospital and Kabutare district Hospital
in Butare 67400 nutritious and healthy meals
were provided to 3275 patients this year. These
are 281 patients more than last year. The team
of the hospital farm worked harder than ever
before even though the climate change has been
a big challenge due to a long drying season we
had, but we still managed to use a simple
irrigation system to keep having vegetables at
least. With the additional help from Humanity
Unified we kept focusing on the food forest which
mostly has fruits to reach our mutual goals of
making meals even more nutritious and well
balanced. But of course all the effort left its
trace. Many more patients remain on the waiting
list for the Patient Feeding Program, the climate
change which has a huge impact on our yield
and the raise of prices at the market is a huge
challenge for us right now, but we hope that
with the financial support of our donors we
will manage those challenges

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
This project was designed to decrease malnutrition
and promoting sustainable agriculture in Rwanda
especially in Gisagara district by empowering and
educating communities trough demonstartion
practicies of regenarative agriculture and
permagarden. Kuzamura Ubuzima in collaboration
with Humanity Unified, 66 families with total
family member of 343 benefited from this project.
The survey we did showed that with the help of this
project 97.9% of the families improved their
nutrition and living standard. 96% could save some
money that they use to spend buying vegetables into
their saving groups. 84.3% have started small
investment due to this project. This experience
proves that together we can make a huge impact in
the community.
Our big goal is to grow because that is how we
can reach more people and create a bigger
impact. Reality is, that only passion, effort
and willpower are not enough to reach that
goal. Monetary resources are the part that
helps this vision to be realized. That is why
we are so grateful for every dollar which gets
contributed, yet also want to remind how
important it is to keep supporting our
beneficiaries by providing donations. Only
together we can continue growing health and
make this dream become reality.
